The airplane card

When this stamp set came in a prize my mom got I knew I had to use it sometime.(Blog candy from Simon Says Stamp Blog!! Thank you!)

I tried to color it as best as I could to match the picture on the stamp package.  It was really hard.  The pink cheeks were the hardest.  To add sparkle I added glue to the airplane wings and sprinkled silver glitter on top.

This is what I chose for the inside:

Thanks for coming to see my card!  I made it for the Simon Says Stamp Kids Summer Vacation Challenge. Anything Goes with Sparkle.

Igloo card

I wanted to paint and have the picture show up like I have seen.  So I picked the Simon Says Stamp Snow Much from our stamps.  I stamped the image and put the embossing powder on it.  Then my mom used the heat tool.

I then used a crayola watercolor set to paint my card. After it dried I colored in the nose and the skates and put down glue for the ice and put glitter on it.  For the background I added snowflakes.  I stamped them in glue and then sprinkled aqua glitter on them.  They sort of worked.

Thanks for coming to see my card.  I am entering it into the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes with Sparkle Challenge.

Garden Card

Today my son is taking over the blog to share a card he created.  It is so neat to watch my kids create and discuss their crafting plans 🙂  He insisted on doing his own photography too!

I made this card for my Grandma and Grandpa.  They like gardening and I like to work in the garden with them.  I wanted to add clouds to my watercolor background.  Then to make them sparkle I used a sparkle pen (wink of stella).  But the pen started taking off my white ink!

I also added a Bee and used the sparkle pen on its wings.

I decided to enter this card into the Simon Says Stamp Kids Summer Vacation Challenge:  Anything goes with sparkle!

Ice Cream Birthday Card

Hi!  Thank you for taking the time to pop in here to my blog!  Today I am sharing a little birthday card I whipped up to go with this month’s Jaded Blossom Stamp Challenge.  This was the inspiration photo for the challenge:

And here is the card I created to for the challenge:

jadedblossom_1

This theme was so fun!  I stepped out of my norm a little and used patterned paper  from the Basics collection by Pebbles.  To cut the stitched rectangular and square pieces I use the Jaded Blossom Card Mat Die.  The circle was I think Spellbinders Nestabilities circle die.

To create the ice cream panel for my card I used the We R Memory Keepers Layering Celebrate/Party clear stamp set.  I also used the Gina K Design Mini Wreath Builder template.

For the beautiful sentiments on my card I used the Jaded Blossom Sweet Birthday Wishes Stamp set.

On the inside of my card I also stamped another stamp from the Jaded Blossom Sweet Birthday Wishes stamp set and another ice cream cone.  Below is a look at that:

Thanks again for stopping by my blog.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Remarkable Resist

I squeezed in one more camp create today!

This time I completed the Remarkable Resist MFT Camp Create Challenge!

This is the card I created:

It was great to try out a new watercolor technique.  Plus using the vellum.  I am still trying to figure out the best way to attach it to a card so the adhesive won’t show.  (Suggestions welcome) 🙂

Thanks for taking the time to stop by!

I used the following supplies:

  • Ink: Versa Mark
  • Clear Embossing Powder: Simon Says Stamp Clear Fine detail embossing powder
  • Tombow Dualbrush pens: 555 & 245
  • Fiskars Clear Stamp: Celebrate
  • MFT: Brushstrokes

Just Because

1 out of 5 is good right 😉  I had/have the best of intentions of getting to all the MFT Camp Create Challenges however with all the summer shenanigans with the kids home it is what it is.  My daughter and I are counting it as a success that we completed 1!  The class was Wonderful Watercoloring.

It was just the motivation we needed to try out the watercolor ideas we had been talking about and test out a few types of papers to see what we liked best.

Here is the front view of my card:

To create my card I used Tombow Dualbrush markers to watercolor the background. (885, 925 & 025) I then went WAY out of my comfort zone and decided to splatter watered down white acrylic ink across the panel. Once it was dried I used the MFT Stitched Mod Rectangle Die-namic to cut the background for my card from my watercolor panel.  Next up I used the Just Because stamp set from UNIKO for the images and sentiment on the front and inside the card.

Here is the inside of my card:

Birthday Card with Candles #2

One more card for the My Favorite Things Stamps Birthday Project: Make a Wish!

I used the Make a Wish Stamp and Die Set from My Creative Time.  First I colored the cute candles in rainbow colors.  After die cutting them out I added them to an embossed panel using a Provo Craft Cuttlebug embossing folder Mickey Celebrates. I also stamped Happy Birthday from the My Favorite Things Stamp Brushstroke Expressions.  I decided it was missing something so I re-stamped the sentiment in Versamark Ink and added Simon Says Stamp clear Embossing powder to give it a little shine.  Last but not least I added glossy accents to all the flames.

Supplies

  • My Favorite Things Stamps: Brushstroke Expressions
  • My Creative Time: Make a Wish
  • Provo Craft: Cuttlebug Embossing Folder – Mickey Celebrates
  • Memento Ink- Tuxedo Black
  • Versamark Watermark Ink
  • Simon Says Stamp: Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder
  • Tombow Dual Brush Pens
  • Glossy Accents

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop by!

Birthday Card with Candles

When I saw the MFT Birthday Challenge: Make a Wish this month to use candles I immediately had a stamp set in mind that I wanted to use!  The trick was finding the time to make it happen.  Today I finally made it happen!

I used a little bit of Wink of Stella to add a little interest and sparkle to the flames.  It was hard to get a great picture but if you look close you can see a little bit of shimmer.

Supplies:

  • Candles: My Creative Time – Make a Wish
  • Happy Birthday Stamp: MFT Brushstroke Expressions
  • Background: MFT Mod Stitched Rectangle Stax Die-namics
  • Tombow Dualbrush Pen
  • Hero Arts Vellum
  • Hero Arts Embossing Powder: Silver
  • Versamark Watermark Ink
  • Versafine Claire: Nocturne
  • Wink of Stella (Flames)
  • Paper: Misc.

I entered it into the MFT: Make a Wish Card Challenge.

Simple water coloring

Hello!  Thanks so much for taking the time to come by and visit my blog!

Today I am sharing a simple card I created and in the end turned into a Sympathy card I needed to send to a friend.

To start I stamped in Versa Mark ink on water color paper.  I used the flower image from  the All That You Are stamp set by Stampin’ Up.  Next I added white embossing powder and embossed the image.  Then came the fun part. I used Tombow Dual Brush colors and water to paint my image.

After it dried I cut the image out using the My Creative Time Thank you Frame and Dies.  Then I mounted it onto a purple card base.

Last but not least I ended up needing a sympathy card so I used the beautiful Ink Blot Shop stamp Comfort & Hugs to stamp a message on the inside of my card.

Thank you again for taking the time to visit my blog.  I hope you have a wonderful day.

A card for Mom

This week I saw a beautiful card (CLICK HERE to see it) being made by the talented Cathy Zielske on her blog CZ designs.  I have been wanting to dabble in water coloring for a bit.  After watching Cathy’s video I was so inspired I decided why not give it a try.

I had to alter the supplies a bit from what she used to go with what I had (please tell me I’m not the only one who does this).  For a first attempt at water coloring a background I was pleasantly surprised and learned a lot as I went.

Once the water color panel was dry I die cut it out using a Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle die.  Next I added the sentiment that I cut out of the Simon Says Stamp Cutting plate.  I polished it off by adding a few fun sequins.   Which even though it doesn’t look like it were the exact same colors for both sets of sequins.  It was so interesting to see how the background color and the way the light hits the sequins changed the look of them!

Below you will see  a list of supplies I used for this card and the card challenge I am entering it into.  Thank you so much for taking the time to stop by my blog today.  I hope you have a wonderful day!

Supplies:

  • Water color paper
  • Tombow Dual Brush Bright Pallet Set
  • Hero Arts Nesting Rectangle Infinity Die
  • Simon Says Stamp Full Card Love Mum
  • Ride the Tide Sequins Spiegelmom Scraps
  • Card Base – DCWV winter box of cards
  • Lawn Fawn glue tube
