What’s for dinner?

How about sloppy Joes?

This was the main dish Purplelicous chose for her big event.  It’s a great meal for large groups or for a small family.  It freezes beautifully as well.

Brown: 1 pound hamburger

  • 1 TBS sugar
  • 1 TBS vinegar
  • 1 cup ketchup

Simmer together for one hour.  Then eat or freeze accordingly.

To spice it up:

Add 1 cup onion to hamburger browning

Then add:

1 TBS chili powder to the mix before simmering.

We use this for sloppy joes (obviously), camping stack  (rice, sloppy joes, cheddar cheese and peas) and as a base for other recipes like stuffed peppers.
