Blackberry Lemonade

When life drowns you in blackberries . . .

Make Lemonade!

This lemonade was sweet and extremely tangy all at the same time! Woody is by far the most in love with this concoction and I guarantee if it becomes a regular we really need to invest in a citrus juicer.  We had some tired hands with this one!

Blackberry Lemonade

  • 6 cups water divided
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 lemons
  • 2 cups (1 pint) fresh blackberries

In a large saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil with the sugar.  Stir until completely dissolved.  Remove from heat and allow to cool

Juice the lemons (you need about 1 cup of freshly squeezed juice).  In a blender, combine lemon juice and blackberries and blend until pureed.  Strain mixture and discard the seeds.

In a pitcher combine sugar water, blackberry puree and additional 4 cups of water.  Refrigerate until cold or add ice to drink immediately!

Yields about 2 quarts
