What better way to celebrate Friday than with a pizza? I know we are slow to join the grilled pizza bandwagon but last week we jumped in with both feet and loved it! In fact the munchkins wanted to do it again this week!
For the dough I used a recipe from The Crafting Chicks
1 cup warm water
1 TBS sugar
1 TBS yeast
2 TBS oil
2 1/2 – 3 cups flour
1/2 tsp salt
Combine yeast and sugar with warm water and oil. Wait until it foams and then add the flour and salt. Add 3 cups of flour for a stiffer dough to work with. Cover and let rise until double.
I shaped the dough and placed on parchment paper to keep separated.
We heated the grill to high for about 10 min – 15 min while we go the toppings ready.
Then we set the temp to Low. Place dough on grill for about 1 1/2 – 2 min.
Once the dough was cooked on the bottom we removed it from the grill. Placed the cooked side up and everyone created their own masterpiece.
We did Alfredo (using our leftover Guiltless Alfredo Sauce) , ham and tomato along with the standard Canadian bacon and pineapple.
Place it back on the grill for a couple more minutes. If it starts going too dark on the bottom move the pizza to the top rack until the cheese melts.
Now sit back and ENJOY!
