Snowmen capades

You would think I meant the white stuff by my title.

Sadly there isn’t much around.

In spite of this Woody has been studying snowmen in school.  He was on snacks this week so we found the PERFECT treat to go with the theme.  If you want to see our rendition read on
if you want to see the original post go HERE.

  • Large marshmallows (3 per snowman)
  • Long sucker sticks (thanks mom!)
  • mini chocolate chips
  • Fruit roll up
  • candy melts (or melted chocolate)
  • orange tic tacs
  • stick pretzels
  • Karo syrup

TO add the hat gather these as well:

  • Oreo’s
  • rollo (or some sort of candy for the top we made our own chocolates)
  • frosting (this is critical!)

For assembly look the picture pretty self explanatory!  We did cut the fruit roll ups into pieces with a pizza cutter.  To attach the eyes and nose we poked small holes into the top marshmallow then painted them with a little Karo syrup to hold the candies in place.  The buttons and mouth were painted on using a brush and melted chocolate.

If you want to add a hat I highly recommend using frosting.  Chocolate didn’t work out quite as well as planned.  You can see one of our snowman flops for yourself:

This was a great craft for the munchkins to help out with!  It might be as close as we get to building a snowman together this year!
